St. Luke’s Home Foundation & Park Avenue Villa – Ozbun

Jim Ozbun knows firsthand the caring staff that makes up St. Luke’s Home and Park Avenue Villa. Jim’s mother, Helen, and aunt, Eleanor, were both residents at one time. Jim shared that his mother and aunt were quite close and lived together in Arizona prior to moving to Dickinson. Helen and Aunt Eleanor, better known as Babe, were glad they were both able to reside at St. Luke’s in their later years.

Jim shared that St. Luke’s took good care of his mother and aunt and they both enjoyed their time they spent at the home. Helen and Aunt Babe were both named Valentine Queen at St. Luke’s Home Valentine’s Coronation. They both participated in events at the home and made friends. Jim and his wife, Sonja, were happy to be able to have their family close by and that is why they moved them to Dickinson. They found the staff to be very cooperative at St. Luke’s.

Jim is now on the board at St. Luke’s Home and is the chair of the fundraising committee for the new facility. He states, “What we had was good, just not great.” The new facility will provide more space, but the same number of beds, when done. Jim shared that the residents will even be able to order off a menu and eat when and what they want. The rooms will also be wired with the latest technology for use of laptops, Kindle, iPad, iPhone, etc… Even though Jim’s loved ones have passed on, he and Sonja continue to carry on his mother and aunt’s legacy through their gifts of time, talent, and treasure to St. Luke’s Home and Park Avenue Villa.
