St. Benedict’s Health Center

St. Benedict’s has many donors, in many different forms. Every day, we receive gifts of time, talent, and treasure. Volunteers are here in some capacity on a daily basis. There are individuals who come in just to visit with residents who don’t have regular visitors. Others come to bake, to share their musical abilities, to do hair or nails, to deliver calendars to resident rooms, to help with religious services, to provide communion at the bedside, to run the coffee shop, and the list goes on. So many individuals play an important role in the daily life of residents who call St. Benedict’s home.

Some donors provide monetary gifts. The meaningful projects that we pursue to make home & life better for our residents are accomplished when the gifts of many generous hearts come together. We’ve recently built a mobility courtyard, which will be a beautiful area to relax as well as a useful outdoor therapy tool. We’re also the first nursing home in North Dakota to have It’s Never Too Late (IN2L) – state-of-the-art technology designed especially for older adults, even those with dementia. IN2L brings the entertainment, communication, and research benefits of the World Wide Web to those who may never have had the chance or desire to use a personal computer, and does so by providing specialized user friendly hardware and software applications. IN2L also brings a creative and highly effective series of applications, suitable for helping to keep or restore functional capacity, when used in conjunction with our Physical, Occupational, and Speech Therapies, as well as our restorative nurses.

We are grateful to those who share their gifts with us, no matter the form or amount. “Give, and it will be given to you. They will pour into your lap a good measure–pressed down, shaken together, and running over. For by your standard of measure it will be measured to you in return.” (Luke 6:38) We continue to invite those who believe in what we do to share their time, talent, and treasures with us. It is our prayer that all of our volunteers and donors receive gifts in good measure, as they have given to us.
